Blessings All;
So, a dear friend of mine, in another part of the state, snowed in by this wonderful surprise of a snow this afternoon, called. We spoke of how 2010 sounds so much more lyrical and flowing, and of the optimism around that particular energy of FLOW. Perhaps it is the time of movement, indeed!
Via Numerology, 2009 was an 11/2 year, Justice and Balance were the key words. And as we look back wasn't that so; We struggled iwth elements of Justice, legal as well as personal...what was fair and what was not. We also teetered on the edge, not quite catapulting out of balance into complete choas, but walking the razor's edge, and not being too comfortable about it. 2010 is a #3 vibration which denotes growth, fertility and movement. it also is represented by The Empress or the Divine Mother, very nurturing and nourishing.
So, my friend and I decided to work with the betwixt and between, the graying time, to work a little spell casting for this time of the Full/Blue Moon...At 5 pm we are joining forces to read a meditation (see www.carolynmannorriley.com for The Shawl of Everlasting Love meditation from ArchAngel Michael) and draw in some positive energy for the New Year.
So, trusting again to the Higher Intuitive, I shuffled and she named the number that came to her mind and we drew inspiration , one card each for the Four Directions for New Year. I always begin around the circle in the Native American tradition of East South, West and North. I will lay the cards in each direction and light a candle beside them and then join the energy in a circle drawn with sea salt. My mega quartz, Ananda, will anchor the center and under it I will place my ten wishes for the New Year. I will seal the Circle with Reiki symbols and she and I will both meditate for about 15 minutes. I love meditating with sound and I have with me Chanting by Sri Shamji Bhatnagar. The chant is the "Bajaranga Bali", the mantra for overcoming fears, being courageous and loving-Courage- which, I think, we all need a bit of as we embrace 2010.
In the EAST
The first card drawn is from The I Ching deck:The Ta Yu Hexagram #14 ABUNDANCE
Above is LI: Fire*Brightness*Elegance
Below is: CH'IEN: Creative*Active*Heaven
The message is: What takes place is believed only after it has been accomplished. There will be great progress and success. Advantage will come from being firm and correct. In that case occasion for repentance shall disappear.
In the SOUTH
From the Archangel Oracle Deck: PASSION , THE ARCHANGEL HANIEL
The message reads: "trust and follow your renewed passion in your lovelife and career"
"playing it safe can lead to staleness and depression. You've asked for more happiness and direction. it is safe for you to take risks and follow your heart's desire. When you feel strong knowingness, alongside a burning passion, pay attention as this is my way of giving you information about your next step"
In the WEST the Direction of Healing, from THE GODDESS ORACLE;
MOTHER MARY
The message is: "Expect a Miracle":"Have faith that your prayers have been heard and answered.Without Faith the future looks very frightening. Keep the candle of Faith burning in your soul, as that one small inkling of hope can eradicate the darkness of despair. Be the light that eliminates someone else's gloomy hopelessness as well. For as you make others stronger, it strengthens not only yourself but the entire world"
In the NORTH, a totem animal from THE WISDOM OF AVALON DECK
THE SWAN #12/3
TRANSFORMATION/Trusting your psychic gifts
"This signal a period of growth that will ultimately be life changing. You may change so much that you may not recognize yourself in the end. It is time to honor and love this change within yourself, for then only the most beautiful reflection will shine back at you from the mirror of your life. Trust your intuition to guide you through this process of change. The Swan reminds you to see with your heart and listen with your spirit and the whole world can be magically transformed."
So, my darlings, Blessings on this new unfolding. Meditate tonight with someone you love or simply hold this whole world in your thoughts for a moment. Possibility and Potential lies within each passage of Challenge and Adversity.
May 2010 Flow and shimmer with magical potential.
Happy New Year

Merry Christmas-Blessed Yule
December 25, 2009
A quiet Christmas morning, snow still on the ground. This is the best time, the tree shining in the background, music playing, the profound silence.
One of the things I am trying to illustrate with this blog is that Divine Synchronicity is at hand at all times, in many ways.
Today I am inspired to draw inspiration from "Healing with the Angels" Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue.
The card is "BLESSINGS"
It remarks in part that "The angels want you to know that you have extra blessings around you right now. You may recently have experienced some challenges and are currently asking for extra help." "You may feel sometimes as if God has abandoned you. Your angels can never leave you, ever. It is only our fear that makes us blind to their presence. You are truly blessed and very, very loved by God and the angels."
May you all enjoy a wonder-filled and beautiful time with friends and family, and if you are,at present, feeling alone...sit in the silence for a moment and allow yourself to feel Divine Love all around you, this day and every day.
Blessings

Peace on Earth

So much is held in the silence as we attend the time to come. Christmas...whether you believe or no, there is something built into our dna that makes us pay attention in a deep way, anticipating the birth of something new...the Light...the Way...the Tao.
"The FOOL" is drawn , yet again. The image is particularly winsome. A young adolescent stands on the edge of a cliff, arms outspread with bright Butterfly wings, a labyrinth pattern unfolds in the wings and a halo of light makes a nimbus around the child's head. A White Hind leaps into the void.
The Child's clothing of soft, green moss represents the protective and healing essence of nature. The burdens of the past have been set down and the Hind, the fearless unconscious already knows to make the leap into the future without hesitation.
The labyrinth traces the Wheel of the Year which has already sent the true heart of the FOOl reaching into the future filled with possibility. For more about The Labyrinth go to www.TheLabyrinthLadies.com

What a blessed, optimistic and Hope filled sign to lead us into this most Sacred of nights.
Many Blessings on your path.

Joy Is Not In Things, It Is In Us!
There may be an upside to this very sedate Holiday time, what with so many people out of work and, from what I have been hearing, so many struggling with their loved ones who are ill or transitioning this Earth plane: we may be finally understanding that Joy and Love is found, not in the next big screen TV, but in sharing our lives and time with each other.
This has always been so, but we, in these modern times, have been distracted by the glut of Stuff with which we have, in our cleverness, created.
People have also been asking me if this shift may have anything to do with 2012....you know, the whole end of the millenia, Mayan Calendar thing. Let's see what the cards might say about this.
THE FOOL is the card that comes to hand.
The FOOL is the Alpha and Omega, standing on the precipice, waiting for the Inner Guide (Inner Shaman or Inner Child, as you will) to guide one across the abyss. Standing at the turning point, unconsciously one feels the tide is turning, something is going to happen. It has already happened, the shift has occured. One's spirit must move on, but the baggage and burdens of the past must be left behind. Only we can choose to do so. Now is the time to be clear and release the fear of failing. Open your arms to the challenges ahead fearlessly and travel hopefully into the future.
The FOOL is alwayts filled with Joy! S/HE embraces the possibilities with open arms.
We as humans are hard wired to view the unknowns of the future with Fear, it is our Spiritual Selves that can view the unknown with positive anticipation. Sometimes you just have to be poised on the precipice to see the vista unimpeded.
Like the FOOL, once we reach the edge, we must summon the courage to take the final step. The Fool always reminds me of that scene in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusdae: Indy stands on the edge of an abyss, nothing between him and the entrance to the cave that holds the Grail but empty space. Yet he places his hand on his heart, closes his eyes, and steps off the edge...and is UPHELD! A leap of faith!
We need to take that leap of Faith as we face our fears about the future and we need to trust in our own resiliency as we fgace transitions. You are stronger than you think.
Blessings

The Holidays, Families and Fa La La: Understanding your family by the numbers.
December 19, 2009
So, I take a deep breath and take the plunge into the world of Blog on this, the eve of Solstice and the eve of The WinterSmith's first serious snow creation of the season!Welcome Yule!
Going to "The Greenwood Tarot" I draw The Six of Wands,Harvest, which reads:"Time to reap the harvest of previously sown effort. A moment of acceptance of gifts and blessings that are a reward for generous and wise forethought". A good omen for this new beginning.
I have been reading Tarot since I was seventeen, having come into possession of my first deck, an Aquarian Tarot, on an art trip to NYC. A mysterious store, The Bell, Book and Candle on the Lower East Side...one half of the room filled with plastic Joseph's to bury in your backyard to promote real estate sales, Saint Candles of appropriate colors and other church related items and, on the other side of the red line painted down the center of the store, incense, wax candles of figures, charms, crystals and Tarot cards.
I started reading for friends at school with uncanny results and was definitely intrigued. In the process of studying comparative religion, philosophy, psychology and art, the interweaving of symbol and meaning and layers of connection drew me further and further into the Tarot's use and its study.
The interweaving of Numerology into my work came much later. Having just had twins and also a three year old, I left the corporate world to stay home with them. I took up teaching Tarot as a way of augmenting our income. During one of these classes, I had a student whose day job was as an accountant. One day she came in and remarked that, though she couldn't get the hang of reading, she noticed number patterns repeating and wondered what that was all about. Now, the Tarot are numbered; the Major Arcana from 0 to 21 and the Minor Arcana, possessing four suits, each suit numbered from 1 (or Ace) through 10 (with attendant Page,Knight,Queen and King to round out the suits). So I began to watch the patterns myself and how they affected interpretation. My own inquiries brought me to discover a great book, "Numerology and The Divine Triangle" by Faith Javane and Dusty Bunker. It explored the interface of Numerology, Tarot and Astrology I couldn't put it down. And of course, it led to a deeper and deeper interest in that particular branch of my esoteric education. Soon, working with a client's numerology became a permanent part of my offering during a session.
One of the most interesting things to explore was and is the interface of family personalities and dynamics as seen in the numbers. Adding the insights of Holistic Counseling to the mix made the exploration of family number patterns all the more potent and I found that it was often helpful to explore this dynamic, especially when issues arose in relationships.
Since my belief is that the more we know(bring to consciousness) the more we can mindfully change a dynamic to the positive, sharing this information with a client is valuable indeed.
Numbers are fun to work with. But, as with all things, you need to have an open mind. Your Birth Energy can be found by adding your month, day and year in a column...adding the resulting number across and then distilling the number ot a single digit if it comes up as a double. Example: Born January 8,1950=1+8+1950=1959: then add 1+9+5+9=24=2+4=6...the Birth Energy is a #6.
Once you know someone's Birth Energy you can have a clue as to how they view the ir world and their place in it. it can also key you in as to how someone communicates, that is, how they want to be heard and how they express themselves.
So let's look at the numbers and their association with the Tarot:
#1/The Magician: Tendency to be somewhat self-centered, strong willed, egotistic, focused, detailed oriented, material oriented, forceful and because they are oftentimes very successful tend to tell you what you need to know (according to them).
#2/The High Priestess:Sensitive, highly intuitive, dreamy, picks up on things not said, reads gestures very well, can't really be nailed down
#3/ The Empress: The Eternal Mother, nurturing, can be smothering, needs to take care of everyone of any age. If this is a person's Birth Energy it is one of the markers that indicates this person has a past life connection with their mother.
#4/ The Emperor: The Patriarch, the King who can be kind and fatherly or the vengeful, "lay down the law" type of guy. If this is a person's Birth Energy it is one of the markers that indicates this person has a past life connection with their dad.
#5/ The Hierophant: Past Lives had been dedicated to the Divine and you can imagine this soul having been released from the monastery in this life...they can retain their reflective, quiet attitude, dedicating themselves to doing good works and expressing a deep Spirituality; on the other hand, it can be a life time of getting all the experiences that have been denied in those past lives and having a ball...money, love, toys!Introvert or extrovert this one always has opinions that are deep and thoughtful.
#6/The Lovers: Family oriented, the peace maker, they want everyone to be nice and harmony is the goal. They can be the "yes man" in an effort to keep the peace and as such, may never really tell you what they think.
#7/ The Chariot:Can indecisive and wavering when faced with too many options. Can change sides in an argument. Very lucky and carefree. May not try too hard,laissez-fare attitude.
#8/Strength: It's not surprising that this energy is ruled by Virgo. A little up-tight and very much "the school marm" with a little self righteousness thrown in for good measure. Neat, organized and tends to be habitual, doesn't like change. Considered and tends to think things through, so don't expect answers right away.
#9/ The Hermit: Just like it sounds, thoughtful, reflective, studious, "The Teacher", has a tendency to make pronouncements made from researching or studying a situation, gets the overview and tends to see how everything connects.
Obviously, this kind of analysis only scratches the surface, but it can be a fun "game" to play after the holiday dinner or during a holiday get together, it certainly can be an ice breaker and get some fun discussions going. How we experience ourselves and how others experience us is always a place of learning and exploration.
